I was reminded of this advice recently when I was looking for a job after a long time not working and after meeting with a few potential employer. One of the things I was told is that people who have never worked full time before are often “in over their heads.” I’m glad I’m not the only one who has heard this and I thought it was worth sharing.
The obvious point is that the idea of going back to school full time is a scary one. It’s easy to look at the idea of not having a job at all and think that’s a great thing. After all, you might not have a job or any of the other benefits of having a job. It’s also easy to look at the idea of not having a job at all and think that’s a good thing.
The problem is that there is a big difference between “being unemployed” and “working for a boss.” A boss is someone who is actually a boss, and if you work for a boss all the time, you are basically his slave. Your boss is not someone who can “help” you, just as the boss is not someone who can “save” you.
The word boss is used to refer to the boss of a business. If your boss is a bad person who treats you like shit, then you become your boss. But if your boss is a really good person who treats you like a human being then you are working for yourself. Your boss is not going to tell you to do something because it is his job, but he can hire you to do something.
The other important part to remember about doing your job is that you must remember that you are not your job. All jobs are a contract. Everyone must always keep the contract they signed in writing. You must not just go about your life and not think about your job. You must put your life on hold while you are working to pay for your school, your bills, and your tuition, etc.
The easiest way to do that is to take a temporary assignment. Some folks don’t even bother to apply for a position they are not qualified for. If you are not qualified for something, take whatever job you can find that you enjoy and do something you love. Do not let someone else control your life.
I don’t believe many of you can afford to do it. You do not need to have a job to pay for it. For most people, it is not a problem. You just need to put it down. Then, if you are going to be a successful entrepreneur and you want to be with a successful business owner, you can go somewhere where you can hire a competent entrepreneur to help you make ends meet.
If you are not going to be a successful entrepreneur, it is important to find a decent job in the city or in your local community. Most small businesses are not able to sell their products in the local market.
